Changing Chinchilla 60 days at a time

MOST people from the health and fitness realm aren't particulary well known for having a down to earth, wholesome or relatable nature.

But these are all traits you could use to describe Chinchilla based personal trainer, Jess Gawne.

The former account manager made the transition to full-time training last year and hasn't looked back.

As part of her personal training business, JGPT, Jess has launched a new fitness program called the 60 Day Challenge.

Last year's challenge saw 40 participants from Chinchilla partake, changing their bodies, lifestyle and overall fitness.

At the end of the month nearly 80 people will take part from right around the country in JGPT's second ever 60 Day Challenge.

Jess said the challenge wasn't just about losing some extra kilos, but rather a way to embrace a happier, healthier lifestyle for good.

"At first a lot of my clients' mindsets are a little bit pessimistic,” Jess said.

"People are really scared to fail so they think "I won't even bother trying'.

"But the challenge isn't about cutting all the little pleasures out of your life. If you're a chocaholic like me you don't need to completely ban yourself from the occaional piece of chocolate,

"Part of my goal as a PT is to educate my clients on how to develop new lifestyle habits whilst still enjoying a fun lifestyle,” Jess said.

The mother of an energetic three year old knows exactly what it's like to tackle the work, career, social juggle as well and said she structured her challenges specifically to work around a busy family schedule.

"I always tell my clients you can't pour from an empty cup. The most imporant thing is to ensure you are keeping yourself topped up physically and emotionally.

"The beauty of keeping the challenge at the 60 day mark means you can't get bored or restless, but it's still enough time to see results.”

Participants of the challenge receive access to the JGPT app to track progress and plan workouts, an exclusive booklet with education, recipes and sample meal plans, unlimited support and guidance from Jess herself and acess to the 60 day challenge support forum.

The challenge begins at the end of the month, perfect timing for those still looking to make good on their goals and resolutions from new year.
