Rugby league: The Miles Devils A-grade side have secured their first win of the finals series, with a 46-20 victory over the Chinchilla Bulldogs in Roma at the weekend.
Coming into the match with a similar number of prior wins, Miles was able to get the job done against Chinchilla in the minor semi final.
Devils Coach Jamie Kerwick was pleased his side was able to get the win.
"I'm pretty happy with the way we went, we probably let a few more points in then I would have liked, but that gives us something to work on,” Kerwick said.
"Now we'll be taking on either Roma or the Red Bulls, I don't have a preference out of the two, but Roma has been the front-runner all year so they'll probably get a win.”
Despite Roma's dominance this year, Kerwick believes his side has it in them to win two more games in 2017 and be crowned premiers.
"Definitely, we have a big chance and we have been getting better every week.
"We've had trouble getting the same guys on the paddock this year, but if we are able to do that for the rest of the season and make the grand final, we'll put on a good show.”
Devils players Luke Kuhl, Wayne Collie, Cam O'Brien and Kerwick all found the tryline in the first 40 minutes to give Miles a 24-0 lead at the break.
The Devils continued their attacking vein in the second half but the Bulldogs also found some life, scoring three tries for the final score of 46-20.
Roma Cities will play the Red Bulls on Sunday at Bassett Park in the major semi final.
