THE last round of the season the Devils took on their ultimate rivals: the Chinchilla Bulldogs. In what was a must win game for the Devils to progress to the finals, Miles proved too strong for the Doggies - soundly beating them 28-18.

In what was always going to be a tough physical encounter, fifteen minutes of solid football was played, before Chinchilla posted their first and only points for the first half. The Devils then took command, totally outplaying the Doggies in both attack and defence, and scored the next three tries. Miles going to the sheds at halftime with a strong 18 - 6 lead.

The Devils came out after the break and crossed the line first, taking the lead out to 24 -6 and were looking comfortable until the Doggies managed to break through their defence and score the next two tries. Their failure to convert took the score to Devils 24 - Doggies 14.

With only eight minutes remaining on the clock both sides managed to post another try, but when the full time hooter sounded the Miles Devils were the victors coming away with a convincing 28-18 win. The win a result of a solid team effort for the complete eighty minutes of the game.

Try scorers for the day were two each to Jamie Kerwick and Tomas Williams and one to Ryan Rayner who also kicked four from four.

The win will see the Devils travel to Roma next weekend where the arch rivals will face off again in the knock-out semi final. Go the mighty Devils.
