Highways remain closed, Maranoa school buses cancelled
HIGHWAYS and main roads around the region remain closed tonight, as flooding and heavy rain continue.
With the floodwaters unlikely to subside by Monday morning, the school bus route from Surat to Roma has been cancelled, Roma State College confirmed tonight, via social media.
"(Surat bus operator) Mick Hearn said there is no bus running tomorrow due to possible flooding," the statement read.
The State College P&C association also confirmed the school bus route from Mitchell will not be operating due to safety concerns.
Families with children who usually travel via bus are advised to contact their local route operator, and check if buses are running in the morning.
