Chinchilla man wins $100,000 Mustang by buying local
A CHINCHILLA local has driven away with a custom built V8 Mustang by entering a national ENZED competition.
The 10 week competition was open to anyone who spent in store, and ran internationally across ENZED's 53 sites with over 3,500 entries going into the lucky draw to win the one of a kind Mustang.
The day finally arrived for Chinchilla local Brian Nothdurft to receive the keys to the black beauty that was custom designed by Australian race car driver Cameron Waters on Saturday November, 30.
Still speechless and shocked, owner of BS Spreading Brian Nothdurft said he was itching to take his new 'town car' for a drive, and couldn't be more thankful to the team at ENZED.
"I'm usually in a work ute… I was stunned when I found out, I still am," Mr Nothdurft said.
"I really appreciate these guys here and I really want to thank them for their support over the years," he said.
Managing director of ENZED Surat Basin and president of the Chinchilla Community Commerce and Industry Inc Shannon McDermitt said the competition is testament to the importance and benefit of buying local.
"It's amazing what opportunities can come up through some of these franchise businesses that are in town and other companies in town that get involved in offering promotions to spend locally, and in this case it's a massive prize," Mr McDermitt said.
"The flow on effect of spending your money locally insures that there's business growth in the region, that there's job opportunities, and it also provides income to those businesses to be able to grow and create future opportunities for employees within town," he said.
