THERE were billies to boil and brooms to throw and just about everything in between at the annual Brigalow Bush Carnival on the weekend.

With poddy calf rides, a chicken chase and a Minty drop for the kids there was barely time to catch your breath with so many unique bush experiences to be had.

The Rogers family travelled all the way up from Ballina in New South Wales to join in on the bush bash.

"We're trying to make it a family tradition to come every year now, especially seeing as the kid's uncle Colin Budden provides the poddies for the rodeo, which we were really looking forward to,” Ms Kerry Rogers said.

The committed team from Gerkies Storm Chasing were out and about getting footage to make a promotional video to encourage more people from around the region to make the trek out for next year when the carnival marks their 60th anniversary.

Keep an eye out on their website for the official video tipped to be released at the end of this week.

"Every year the carnival gets bigger and better as world travels about all the unique aspects to our carnival,” committee president Greg Olm said.

"This year we've created a special bench to commemorate all of our committee members who have passed away in an effort to honour their hard work and dedication to this wonderful event,” Mr Olm said.

If you know of a committee member you would like to see honoured, the committee are urging everyone to get in touch with them to organise an engraved plaque.

To do this you can contact Greg Dalgliesh on 0428 841 255 or Greg Olm on 0477 977 082.
