Miles High School’s principal of the matter

THE new principal of Miles State High School, Josette Moffatt, is a firm believer in the proverb 'it takes a whole village to raise a child'.

If there's one thing Mrs Moffatt knows after working in every possible sector of education over the past 20 years as well as raising her own three children, it's the communal effort involved in helping children grow and succeed.

This is why Mrs Moffatt said she was so delighted to take up a principal position in a rural town.

"The school and the community are one. A school is the hub of the community in rural areas," Mrs Moffatt said.

"Rural communities are so welcoming and so supportive."

"What is our most important resource? It's our youth, it's our children."
