School girl Izzy our youngest Q&A yet
Full name: Isabelle Evelynne Jurss
Occupation: Student at CSHS, worker at Jan's Country Kitchen
Age: 15 (07/11/00)
What is your greatest accomplishment in life?
I treasure so many of my accomplishments, but the most recent is being selected to attend the National Youth Science Forum in Canberra this January.
As only 300 students were chosen nationally, it is an immense honour.
A special thank you to everyone who has made this possible including Rotary for their support and those who attended/assisted with my movie premiere.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
Our family friend Marilyn Hughes told me to not get my excitement confused for nervousness, because it really is just the same hormone.
What is your best childhood memory? What makes it so special?
Being touched by a personal story. When I was five years old, I'd been told that a tsunami had destroyed the home of our Thai friends on Koh Phi Phi Island. The family had lost everything. The younger girls were particularly distressed about their Barbie dolls, which were expensive in Thailand. I personally gathered all of my Barbie dolls, and asked others in my grade at school to contribute.
We ended up mailing a very large care package to our friends and to this day our families share a bond.
What is the best sound in the world to you?
"Dinner is ready!"
If you could be transported back in time, where and when would you like to be?
Back on stage, acting in the 2016 Youth Theatre Play Colosseum. It was such an amazing night that went too quickly.
Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?
Me, I'd love to add it to my acting repertoire.
Is there anything you wished would come back into fashion?
Leg warmers. My mum has a fluoro pink pair that have caught my eye once or twice.
What's been the best decision you've made in your life so far?
Telling my parents I was coming home to Chinchilla from boarding school.
What three things do you think of most each day?
I asked my mum this question and she answered it for me:
3. My mother, because I love her so much.
