Wandoan Polocrosse action
POLOCROSSE: Competitors were literally kicking up the dust at the Wandoan Polocrosse Carnival last weekend. Dozens of teams converged on the town for two days of action, going up against teams from Toowoomba to Roma, and everywhere in between.
Roma player Taylor Osborne said carnivals were a great chance to travel around the region and get to know other players.
"The social side of it, that's really good and seeing everyone get along on and off the field,” she said.
Osborne started playing four years ago, following in the footsteps of her Mum and grandfather.
"I just love the adrenalin and I love the game and just seeing how well your horses work,” she said.
"It's good, whether you play or not, it's just a good spectator sport as well.”
Wandoan Polocrosse Club PR officer Jason Erbacher said the weekend went "really well” with competitors from A to E Grade, juniors and mini-juniors.
"We had 36 teams, that's about our normal which is great,” Erbacher said.
The club thanks sponsors and members for their contribution.
